It is the most challenging, celebrated and iconic sector of both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eroica.cc\/en\/home-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-start=\"950\" data-end=\"962\">L\u2019Eroica<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 and \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.strade-bianche.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Strade Bianche<\/strong><\/a>, the race known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pirelli.com\/global\/en-ww\/road\/bicycles\/tips\/strade-bianche-the-white-gravel-road-race-offers-five-scenarios-that-have-made-this-modern-race-with-a-legendary-soul-icon-62556\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em data-start=\"1005\" data-end=\"1053\">\u201cthe northernmost Classic in southern Europe.&#8221;<\/em><\/a> \u00a0It is also one of the highlights of the <strong data-start=\"1094\" data-end=\"1122\">Tuscan Cammino Lauretano<\/strong>, the historic walking route from Siena to Cortona. Anyone wishing to pass this way had to go through the castle itself \u2014 <em data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"2034\">\u201cWho are you? Where are you going? What are you carrying?\u201d<\/em> Yes, quite literally \u2014 entering through the great arched gateway, now incorporated into the cellars of the manor house (and open to visitors by prior arrangement), and leaving through the Porta Senese, or vice versa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column
